Our Story

Like I said, my story really took a good turn once Tyge and I met. We met at a bar on a Wednesday night and had our first date in April 2007. We begun dating and the relationship was like many I'd had before - shallow, full of fun and partying, but do depth, no trust, and no real love.

Tyge was part of a bible study and one night while there in November 2007, he had someone pray over him and it radically changed his life. He called me and said (in short) that he wanted to 100% turn his life around, stop our partying ways, and follow Jesus. He said I could follow along with him or not, but this is the path he felt called to take. At the time I thought we were over and he was breaking up with me - little did I know that God was bringing us closer together and to Him, and we were forever changed!

Fast forward a few months of a completely different relationship than what we started with, and Tyge proposed to me on July 4th, 2008 in the most romantic way. The 4th of July up at his parent's lake home is a huge holiday for everyone, so he involved both our families and popped the question during the town's parade as we rode in his Mustang convertible (copy of the full news story here).

The whole family!

We were married on March 28, 2009 (see Our Wedding) and began our life as a married couple! We bought our first house (see Our Home) in October 2010 and love where we live - we have really enjoyed making the house into a home. We became a family of three in January 2011 with the addition of Keely girl, the best dog ever (see Our Girl)! I suppose now that we have each other, the house, and the dog, we're trying to expand our family with (actual) children and know that God will bless us in His time.

We've been SO fortunate enough to travel together and have made some awesome memories on many vacations so far - travel is something we love to do together.

Sapphire President's Club in Cancun, Mexico

Honeymoon in St. Lucia

2nd Anniversary in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We also love to do outdoor activies like boating, hunting, and fishing together - in fact he helped me catch my first fish! Aside from hunting, I wasn't always an outdoorsy girl, and he's brought that love out in me!
Fishing in Puerto Vallarta

Hunting on the farm in Salem, SD

Four wheeling in Nashwauk

In addition to the hobbies we have together, we are very close to our families and love spending time with both sets of parents, Tyge's brother and sister-in-law, our toddler nephew and baby niece as well as our many cousins, aunts and uncles. We also have a wide circle of friends who we couldn't imagine "doing life" without! On any given night we have a couples dinner, bible study, or something and we can't imagine life any other way.

I love that Tyge and I bring out the best in each other - we definitely don't take ourselves too seriously and love to have fun!

Every day I thank God that He brought Tyge into my life - above all else, Tyge is my heart's greatest desire!
