Puebla Day 1 - Travel Day

Friday, March 16th

And we're off!

Today was a long travel day - we woke up at 5 AM, took 3 flights, had 4 hours of layovers, and finally made it into Mexico around 9 PM. The whole team was excited to arrive and begin our journey. We had a pretty uneventful travel day, aside from a small baggage snafu but for a group of 11 travellers, I'd say we fared pretty well. My body did pretty well also - I had a few back and feet aches, but I think even NOT pregnant that would happen after a 14 hour travel day!

Once through the gates in Mexico, we were met my Alejandra and Nancy (staff at Living Hope International) who took us to our casa for the next 10 days. It was a very clean and nice townhouse in a family development, almost like a college campus. Many of  the LHI missionary families live there so it was safe to walk around the gated community at night.

We unpacked and grabbed rooms - I shared a bunk with Vanessa and Kelly and Ivana were in the other bunk. The unit itself was 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - so nice with 3 guys and 8 girls! We had a small kitchen and one "living space" which was full with a long dining table and folding chairs and a table on each side of the room that we set all our food and craft items on.

All settled in, we went to bed tired and excited about what the next day would bring!
